The Hawai'i Substance Abuse Coalition is a non-profit 501(c)(3) agency that is organized for charitable and educational purposes, informally operating since the early 1990's and formally incorporated in November, 2007.
HSAC's purpose is to support the systematic development of and improvement in the continuum of substance abuse services: prevention, treatment, educational services and recovery.
HSAC envisions a treatment of care continuum that efficiently uses best practices, community resources and consumer input to respond to the multi-generational substance abuse problems in Hawaii. Integration of chemical dependency treatment services with primary medical care/PCP's is an integral part of the health-care infrastructure.
