The Hawaii Substance Abuse Coalition is a non-profit 501(c)3(h) agency since 2007 whose member agencies help people with substance abuse or co-occurring disorders by providing treatment, prevention, case management, outreach, housing, and related services.
HSAC provides advocacy, education, community awareness to reduce stigma and promotes systemic reform while sharing support and advice with each other.
HSAC envisions a systemic reform for a care continuum of mild to moderate to chronic conditions that is based upon best practices, community resources and consumer input to respond to the multi-generational substance abuse problems in Hawaii. Systemic integration between behavioral health and medical care as well as other community resources to treat the whole person is an integral part of reforming our health-care infrastructure.
